Sadyr Japarov announced the expected news for employees working in the fields of education and medicine in Kyrgyzstan. According to the head of state, from April 1, 2026, the salaries of teachers and doctors in the country will be increased by 100%, that is, by half. He spoke about this at the People's Congress held on December 25.
The President emphasized that respect for teachers and doctors is one of the main pillars of building a strong state. According to him, teachers educate the future of the nation, and doctors preserve human health and life. At the same time, he noted that today there are cases of disrespect, rudeness, and even violence against people of this profession, which is a serious problem for society. Japarov called this the highest manifestation of incivility and emphasized the need to restore the prestige of the two sacred professions.
It was reported that currently the average monthly salary of teachers in Kyrgyzstan is 26 thousand soms (about 3.5 million soms). After April 1, 2026, this figure will reach 52 thousand soums (about 7 million soums). According to the president, the salary will be determined based on the teacher's level of education, work experience, qualification category, location, taught subject, and weekly workload.
For example, the salary of an inexperienced young teacher starting work in a city school will be 36,800 soums (5 million soums) starting from April 1. After taxes and social payments, he will receive approximately 31,200 soms (4.2 million soms).
Doctors' salaries will also be significantly increased. Currently, their average monthly salary is 31,500 soms (4.3 million soms), and from April 2026, this figure will reach 62,500 soms (8.6 million soms). After taxes, doctors receive a net income of about 50 thousand soums (6.9 million soums).
The monthly salary of a highly qualified doctor with 30 years of experience working full-time in remote mountainous areas will reach 91,700 soums (12.6 million soums), and after taxes - about 75,700 soums (10.4 million soums).
In addition, it was announced that from April 1 of next year, an additional presidential compensation of 5,000 soums (680,000 soums) will be introduced for each position. This decision is considered an important step towards raising the social status of those working in the field of education and medicine in Kyrgyzstan.
