Oʻzgidromet has issued an urgent alert. Due to expected precipitation from April 28 to May 4 this year, the possibility of mudflows and flooding in foothill and mountainous areas of the republic’s regions remains.
It was reported that the risk is high in the following areas:
- Qashqadaryo region: Yakkabog‘, Dehqonobod, Chiroqchi, Kitob, Shahrisabz, Qamashi, G‘uzor districts;
- Surxondaryo region: Sariosiyo, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherobod, Sho‘rchi, Qumqo‘rg‘on, Muzrobot districts;
- Samarqand region: Urgut, Samarqand, Bulung‘ur, Nurobod, Qo‘shrabot, Kattaqo‘rg‘on, Payariq, Jomboy, Ishtixon districts;
- Navoiy region: Xatirchi, Navbahor, Nurota, Konimex, Karmana districts;
- Jizzax region: Zomin, Baxmal, G‘allaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Forish, Yangiobod districts;
- Toshkent viloyati: Ohangaron, Bo‘stonliq, Parkent, Piskent, O‘rtachirchiq, Yuqorichirchiq districts, as well as the cities of Angren and Olmaliq;
- Namangan region: Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan, Yangiqo‘rg‘on districts;
- Fergana region: So‘x, Shohimardon, Farg‘ona, Beshariq districts;
- Andijon region: Andijon, Asaka, Jalaquduq, Qo‘rg‘ontepa, Paxtaobod, Izboskan, Xo‘jaobod, Marhamat districts, as well as the city of Xonabod.
Experts noted that residents living in foothill and mountainous areas, people out for leisure, and drivers traveling through these areas should strengthen precautionary measures.
It was also noted that in some areas there is a possibility of rainwater accumulation. This, in turn, could cause flooding in some places.
