On December 12, 2025, during The Game Awards 2025 ceremony, the new trailer for the game Resident Evil Requiem was unveiled. The trailer confirmed the return of Leon Kennedy. This was reported by DTF.
Leon Kennedy is making his first return to the series since the release of Resident Evil 6 in 2012. He joins forces with Grace Ashfort as a secondary protagonist to fight a new antagonist, Victor Gideon. The storyline of the new game revolves around the daughter of journalist Alyssa Ashcroft, who died in Resident Evil: Outbreak.
Now an FBI agent, she arrives in Raccoon City to conduct an investigation. The release of Resident Evil Requiem is scheduled for February 27, 2026.
The game will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 platforms. An additional presentation providing more details on the project is planned for January. Prior to that, an image of the game’s cover featuring Leon Kennedy was accidentally leaked online.
