US President Donald Trump announced that the 'Project Freedom' operation in the Strait of Hormuz has been temporarily suspended. He made the statement via Truth Social.

The President noted that this decision was made to explore the possibilities of reaching a potential agreement with Iran. According to him, this step was taken following requests from several countries, including Pakistan.

Trump stated that the US side has achieved 'great successes' militarily and noted significant progress in approaching a final agreement between the parties.

Earlier, Marco Rubio announced that the 'Epic Rage' operation had concluded and all objectives had been met. He emphasized that Washington aims to reach a comprehensive agreement with Iran.

As is known, a few days ago, Trump said that US ships would provide assistance to civilian vessels stranded in the Strait of Hormuz, describing the operation as a humanitarian step. He noted that the ships were lacking food and essential supplies.

However, the Iranian side reacted sharply to this initiative. The country's military stated that they are prepared to strike US ships if they approach the strait.

Additionally, in an interview with Fox News, Trump warned that if Iran attacks US ships, there will be a very harsh response. US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegset also emphasized that there would be a strong military response in such a case.

Experts believe that the suspension of the operation could create new opportunities for diplomatic negotiations, although regional tensions remain high.
