SpaceX Publishes Financial Report and Reveals Starship Flight Details

Aerospace giant SpaceX presented its first quarterly financial report since going public and provided details about upcoming major tests. According to the publication, the data showed that the company’s financial position is improving while significant changes are expected in its space program. This is what Ixbt.com reports.

For the reporting period, the company recorded a net loss of $541 million. Nevertheless, its financial performance improved significantly: a year earlier, SpaceX’s losses had exceeded $1 billion. At the same time, the company’s revenue continues to grow rapidly.

SpaceX generated $7.8 billion in revenue last quarter. This represents a 92% increase compared with the same period last year. The company went public in June of this year.

Share Performance and Market Impact

Although the company’s share price rose to $225.6 during the initial IPO, it later declined. At the close of trading on August 4, the company’s shares were valued at $125.33 each. Nevertheless, experts view the sharp increase in revenue as an important step against the backdrop of positive developments in the technology sector.

During a meeting with investors, the company’s management also revealed plans for the next Starship program milestone—the 14th test flight. This milestone is expected to become one of the most important turning points in the history of the entire space program.

Orbital Flight and Technical Changes

According to the plans, the next test will send the spacecraft into Earth orbit for the first time in history. The flight will also carry out a mission to launch Starlink V3 satellites into space.

However, due to problems that occurred during the previous 13th test flight, the company has temporarily abandoned its attempt to catch the Super Heavy Booster 21 using the launch tower’s mechanical arms. Instead, the booster is expected to make a soft landing in the Gulf of Mexico.

The spacecraft’s fate has reportedly not yet been fully decided. SpaceX specialists continue to analyze the results of the previous mission and are working on a historic attempt to return the Starship directly to the launch pad and catch it with the tower’s mechanical clamps.
