UFC Rankings Updated: Three Uzbeks Included

The UFC has updated its Meta rankings across all weight classes. The new list still includes three Uzbek fighters competing in the promotion — Ramazon Temirov, Nursulton Ro‘ziboyev and Bogdan Guskov who retained their positions.

The update revealed two contrasting developments: Temirov and Ro‘ziboyev are moving closer to the title race, while Guskov, who lost his last fight, dropped one place.

Ramazon Temirov remains seventh

Ramazon Temirov retained seventh place in the flyweight division.

The Uzbek fighter defeated former title challenger Steve Erceg by first-round technical knockout at the UFC event in Abu Dhabi on July 25. The referee stopped the fight after 4 minutes and 21 seconds. It was Temirov’s third UFC victory.

The convincing win over Erceg significantly strengthened Temirov’s position in the division. The value of the result is even greater because the Australian had previously fought for the UFC championship belt.

Temirov is now in the top seven, and another victory could move him closer to the group of contenders for the championship belt.

Ro‘ziboyev moves up one place

The updated rankings brought a positive change for Nursulton Ro‘ziboyev. The Uzbek mixed martial artist moved up one place in the middleweight division to 14th.

Ro‘ziboyev won his last fight against Andrey Pulyaev in Baku on June 27. According to official UFC information, his next opponent will be Michael Page. The fight is scheduled for September 5.

The bout against Page could be one of the most important tests of Ro‘ziboyev’s career. A victory over the experienced British fighter, known for his unorthodox style, would bring the Uzbek closer to the division’s top 10.

Guskov drops after latest defeat

Bogdan Guskov, who competes in the light heavyweight division, dropped from ninth to 10th place.

He faced Magomed Ankalaev in the main event in Abu Dhabi on July 25. Accepting the fight on short notice, Guskov resisted the former champion until the fifth round but lost by technical knockout after 2 minutes and 41 seconds.

Despite dropping one place, Guskov remains in the light heavyweight division’s top 10. Going five rounds against a high-level opponent such as Ankalaev was an important stage in his development.

Guskov will now need a victory in his next fight to restore his position in the rankings.

How are the Meta rankings calculated?

The UFC and Meta introduced the new ranking system on June 22, 2026. Instead of traditional votes from journalists, it is based on a mathematical model built around fight results.

The system gives special consideration to the following factors:

— the quality of the opponent the fighter faced;
— the method of victory or defeat;
— how convincing the result was;
— when the fight took place;
— the athlete’s activity level or a long layoff.

For example, an early finish against a highly ranked opponent earns more points than a routine win over a lower-ranked fighter. The scores of athletes who have not fought for a long time may gradually decline. The rankings are updated automatically after every UFC event.

Three fighters, three different tasks

After the new rankings, the tasks facing the Uzbek fighters also became different.

Ramazon Temirov has the opportunity to face another top opponent and enter the title race. For Nursulton Ro‘ziboyev, a fight with Michael Page could open the door to the top 10.

Bogdan Guskov, meanwhile, must return to winning ways after his defeat by Ankalaev and strengthen his place in the top 10.

For now, Temirov has achieved the best result, sitting seventh in his division. However, all three fighters appearing in the rankings show that Uzbekistan’s MMA school is steadily strengthening its position in the UFC.
