"The World's Ugliest Dog" Conquers the Internet in One Week

A dog named Huahua, described as “the world's ugliest dog,” has quickly become one of the most popular figures on social media. Its unusual appearance has attracted the attention of millions of internet users. Chinese media reported this.

According to reports, within just one week, short videos featuring Huahua spread widely across various video platforms and received millions of views. Many users have taken a keen interest in the animal's distinctive appearance and praised its “ugly charm.” Others jokingly call Huahua “the dog that came first from last place in a beauty contest.”

Chinese local media clarified that Huahua's parents are purebred border collies that participate in shows and fully meet breed standards in appearance. The other puppies born in the same litter also developed with attractive looks that comply with breed standards.

However, Huahua developed a completely different appearance from the others due to a rare genetic mutation. Its fur grows in an extremely disheveled manner, while the feather-like tufts sticking out on both sides of its ears make it look even more distinctive. This unusual appearance became the main factor that made Huahua famous on the internet.

According to the publication, the dog could not be sold for a long time because of its unconventional appearance. However, the situation changed completely after a video of it was accidentally posted online. In a short time, Huahua became a social media star, and interest in it surged.

As a result, yesterday, August 3, Huahua was sold to a new owner for 2,400 yuan, or approximately 4.3 million Uzbek soums. Thus, a dog that had previously attracted no attention became widely recognized thanks to its internet fame.

This story once again showed that social media can turn even ordinary events into topics of global discussion in a very short time.
