Commemoration of repression victims will be strengthened

The government of Uzbekistan has approved a program for 2025-2026 aimed at promoting the lives and activities of victims of repression. According to this program, during the first week of October every year, a week of remembrance for victims of political repression will be held in the country.

In addition, scientific conferences dedicated to the memory of repression victims will be organized every October and these events will be given nationwide significance. It is planned to hold meetings and roundtable discussions on the topic “Homeland and National Heroes Are Not Forgotten” in the birthplaces of repression victims, with the participation of schoolchildren and students.
