A severe traffic accident occurred in the Sharof Rashidov district of the Jizzakh region, resulting in the death of five people. The tragedy took place on the evening of November 21, at the 989th kilometer of the Tashkent–Termez highway.
According to local law enforcement authorities, the driver of an ISUZU truck violated traffic signs requiring 'Yield' and 'Right Turn' and attempted to turn towards Tashkent from a non-designated area. Meanwhile, a Lacetti car traveling from Tashkent to Samarkand was approaching.
As a result of the collision, the front part of the Lacetti caught fire, and the vehicle was completely destroyed by the flames. The driver and four passengers in the car sustained severe injuries and died at the scene.
The Investigation Department of the Jizzakh Regional Internal Affairs Directorate has initiated a criminal case regarding the incident.
