
Between January and October 2025, 26,400 Uzbek citizens left the country to pursue education abroad, according to the State Statistics Committee. This figure represents a decline of 18.9 percent compared to the same period last year.
Among the most popular destinations for Uzbek students were Russia (5,900 individuals) and Tajikistan (5,800 individuals). Additionally, South Korea (3,300), Kyrgyzstan (3,800), and Turkey (2,300) were also prominent choices.
Among more distant countries, China (1,200), the United Kingdom (839), and Germany (366) took the lead. Meanwhile, as of November 1, 2025, the number of foreign students coming to Uzbekistan for education reached 33,200, showing an annual growth of 51.5 percent.
