Uzbek football’s young star Abbosbek Fayzullaev’s transfer to Europe is drawing great interest among the general public and experts. In August 2023, the Uzbek legionnaire moved from Pakhtakor to CSKA and in a short time became one of the leading players in the Russian Premier League. Experts emphasize that in the past two seasons he has become a key figure in the “army men’s” attack line — most of the team’s attacks have been built with the participation of Abbosbek.
Fayzullaev’s talent was evident already in his debut season. The new head coach Marko Nikolic gave him the central position, and through this, Abbos had to work more both in attack and defense. The Serbian specialist introduced the “diamond” scheme, which at that time didn’t fit Fayzullaev, so he experienced a decline in his statistics. The coach himself expected that after adapting to the new position, the Uzbek footballer would again increase his goals and assists.
In the summer, Nikolic left the club and Fabio Celestini replaced him. However, the Swiss coach did not have time to fully work with Abbosbek — Fayzullaev made a big decision to conquer European fields.
CSKA’s communications director Kirill Breydo officially announced: Abbosbek Fayzullaev successfully passed a medical examination at the Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir, and the transfer is in the process of being finalized financially. According to sources, Basaksehir will pay CSKA a transfer fee of 7.5 million euros, and bonuses may reach up to 2.5 million euros.
The new club offered Abbosbek Fayzullaev a personal contract for 3+1 years. According to some reports, he will receive about one million euros per year. In the Turkish championship, the attacking footballer is on the verge of new challenges and great opportunities.
CSKA now has to rebuild its game without him. In the last Russian Premier League match against Akhmat, Abbos’ teammate Danil Krugovoy recalled his joking words: “Before he left, Abbos told me: ‘Now you will be the new Messi’. Maybe this is a prophecy that came true,” said Danil Krugovoy.
Abbosbek Fayzullaev played 72 matches in two years at CSKA, scored eight goals, and made 22 assists. With the team, he won the Russian championship bronze medal, the national cup, and the super cup.
Conclusion: Abbosbek Fayzullaev’s move to Istanbul Basaksehir has become a new page and the beginning of great hopes for Uzbek football. His career in Europe, with its trials and opportunities, will have even greater significance. Fans are eagerly awaiting his matches with his new team.
