Telegram Temporarily Removed from the App Store and Restored

The popular Telegram messenger disappeared from Apple’s official App Store for several hours worldwide. This was reported by Ixbt.com.

According to ixbt.com, both Telegram representatives and Apple officially commented on the incident and disclosed its details. It turned out that the messenger was temporarily blocked because prohibited content had been posted by an ordinary user.

Swift Action and the App’s Return

After Apple detected the violation, it immediately removed the Telegram app from its store temporarily. The Telegram team, in turn, acted quickly, deleting all offending materials and permanently blocking the account of the user who had distributed the content.

Following these swift measures, the Telegram app was restored to the App Store the same day, allowing users to download it again. Apple representatives emphasized that the materials violated the store’s rules and confirmed that the restriction was lifted after the issue was resolved.

Zero-Tolerance Policy and Statistics

Telegram’s administration firmly stated that it follows a zero-tolerance policy toward this type of content. According to company data, nearly 338,000 groups and channels linked to similar violations have been blocked since the beginning of 2026.

The messenger’s representatives also commented on such incidents on their social media pages, expressing hope that Apple would apply the same standards to all apps. This is not the first such case: in 2018, Apple temporarily blocked Telegram for similar reasons.
