Antonelli Secures First Victory at Shanghai Grand Prix

The 2026 Formula 1 season’s second round took place at the Shanghai International Circuit in China, and this event included not only speed but also drama and intrigue. 19-year-old talented Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli claimed his first career victory, becoming one of the brightest moments in his racing career. Antonelli crossed the finish line first after 56 laps, delivering a significant win for himself and his team.
In second place finished his teammate George Russell. British star Lewis Hamilton took third place with Ferrari, marking his first podium with this team and a historic return. The last time Hamilton reached the podium with Mercedes was at the Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2024.
In the race, 7 drivers were unable to complete the event. Among them, Alex Albon, Oscar Piastri, Gabriel Bortoleto, and reigning world champion Lando Norris could not participate due to technical issues with their cars. Additionally, Max Verstappen, Fernando Alonso, and Lance Stroll were forced to retire early, which became an unexpected event for the spectators.
