The 100th marriage between Uzbeks was formalized in Seoul

The Embassy of Uzbekistan operating in the Republic of Korea has registered one hundred marriages since the beginning of 2025. This was reported by the press service of the diplomatic mission.

According to the information, the embassy ranks among the leading Uzbek embassies abroad in terms of consular services provided. In particular, it holds first place in the number of registered civil status acts and marriages.

On October 10, the marriage ceremony between Elyor Nuriddinov and Nilufarkhon Nuriddinova was officially registered at the embassy in Seoul. This event became the 100th marriage registered at the Embassy of Uzbekistan during 2025.

The embassy serves not only as a diplomatic representation but also as an important center providing consular assistance to citizens. Here, Uzbeks can obtain passports, certify documents, resolve citizenship issues, and register marriages.

Marriages are registered in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Both parties must meet the legal age requirement, give mutual consent, and not be married to anyone else. The law also prohibits marriage between individuals who are closely related by kinship.

To register a marriage, citizens must submit an application to the embassy, provide identification, a medical certificate, and, if applicable, documents confirming the dissolution of a previous marriage. The embassy processes the documentation within the prescribed period and issues a “Marriage Certificate.”

Experts note that this figure is not just a statistic but a vivid expression of the respect for family values among Uzbeks living abroad.
