A 12-year-old Uzbek boy ran away from home in Turkey after failing to get along with his mother.

In Turkey, a 12-year-old boy from Uzbekistan ran away from home due to conflicts with his mother and stepfather, reported the source “Istanbul.uz”. Following the incident, the police and the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul became involved.

According to reports, the boy went to the local police and spoke about difficulties and pressure he was facing at home. As a result, government and diplomatic authorities intervened in his situation. The boy’s mother had previously been married in Uzbekistan, but after a divorce, she moved to Turkey and entered into a religious marriage (imam nikah) with a Turkish citizen.

Initially, she left her son under the care of his grandmother in Uzbekistan, but in June 2024, she brought him to Istanbul. However, since he had no official documents, he could not be enrolled in a local school. As a result, the boy had been out of education for more than a year.

After the incident came to light, the police found the boy and handed him over to the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul. His condition was examined, he underwent a medical check-up, and received necessary assistance with the help of sponsors.

The Consulate ensured the boy’s safety, prepared all the required documents, and arranged his return to Uzbekistan. He is now back in his home country, continuing his education with the help of the relevant organizations.

This incident serves as another reminder for Uzbek citizens living abroad. Experts emphasize that neglecting the emotional and social well-being of children can have serious consequences for their future. Parents are urged to always put their children’s interests above all else, regardless of circumstances.
