Xiaomi Introduces Ultra-Compact Electric Shaver That Activates on Skin Contact

Xiaomi has unveiled a new device designed for technology enthusiasts and users who value daily convenience — the Mijia Portable Electric Shaver Pro. According to ixbt.com, this gadget stands out for its ultra-compact dimensions and automatic control function, and it has already been announced on the Xiaomi Youpin crowdfunding platform. While the initial price of the new model is set at 349 yuan (approx. 52 USD), Xiaomi is offering a discount during the early stages of sales. Accordingly, during the pre-order period, the gadget can be purchased for 296.65 yuan or roughly 44–45 USD. The pre-order process in the Chinese market is officially expected to begin in the coming days.

Premium Design and Advanced Technologies

Paying special attention to appearance and material quality, the Mijia Portable Electric Shaver Pro features a unibody metal chassis crafted from an aluminum alloy. To allow users to choose a style that suits them, the manufacturer offers the device in three attractive colors: gold, silver, and dark gray.

One of the key technical features of the device is recognized as the new-generation shaving system. The shaver is equipped with a double-ring mesh and sharp blades made of stainless steel. Xiaomi notes that such a construction more effectively captures hair growing in various directions, drastically reduces the likelihood of clogging, and makes the shaving process as smooth and comfortable as possible.

Smart Features and Water Protection

To further simplify daily use, engineers integrated a special intelligent sensor into the shaver. This sensor automatically starts the motor upon physical contact with the skin and, conversely, instantly turns the motor off when the device is moved away from the face. This serves to save battery power and make usage intuitive.

Additionally, the body is fully protected against water in accordance with the IPX8 standard, which allows the shaver to be washed directly under running water. A built-in rechargeable battery is responsible for the device's autonomous operation, capable of lasting up to 60 days without recharging. Furthermore, for user convenience, the ability to use the shaver even while charging has been retained.
