
The mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, addressed his supporters and expressed his gratitude to Uzbek nurses for their support in his election victory. Additionally, the new city leader also expressed his appreciation to Mexican grandmothers, Yemeni merchants, Senegalese taxi drivers, and other national minorities living in New York.
"This city is your city, and this democracy also belongs to you," emphasized Zohran Mamdani. In his political program, the New York mayor put forward proposals such as introducing free childcare services for children from six weeks to five years old and opening state-subsidized grocery stores in each district of the city.
Moreover, Mamdani’s election pledges include making city buses free and freezing rental prices for one million tenants. He also proposed imposing higher taxes on the city's wealthiest residents and increasing corporate tax rates, planning to use these funds to implement his ideas.
