The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan will gradually implement the "Electronic Prescription" system. Initially, this system will be introduced in Tashkent city and in 15 pilot regions.
This was reported by the ministry's press service. Taking into account feedback and suggestions, the ministry is implementing additional measures to ensure a smooth and understandable transition to the new system.
Additionally, working meetings with specialists and representatives of relevant organizations were held at the ministry. As a result of these meetings, an expert council was established to review the implementation issues of the new system on a weekly basis and prepare proposals for the next stages.
Initially, the electronic prescription will be mandatory for antibiotics, synthetic antibacterial agents, and hormonal drugs with systemic effects. For the subsequent stages, the list of medicines will be approved separately based on medical importance and the degree of social danger.
The ministry emphasized that connecting medical and pharmaceutical organizations to the system will be conducted free of charge, and the right to issue electronic prescriptions will remain exclusively with doctors. During the transition period, the ability to issue paper prescriptions will be preserved for specific and urgent cases.
The ministry noted that the phased introduction of this system aims to continuously improve it, ensure treatment safety, regulate the circulation of medicines, and create convenience for the public. For inquiries, citizens can contact the round-the-clock call center at 1003.
