He saved his sheep from a wolf, but the environmentalists imposed a fine

In Surkhandarya region, a citizen who killed a wolf that attacked his sheep was held administratively liable. This was reported by the territorial main department for ecology and climate change.
It was reported that the incident occurred on December 10, 2025, in the territory of the “Beshkapa” mahalla of Uzun district. Citizen M.I. faced a wolf attack while grazing his small livestock — sheep — in a hilly area.
It is noted that after the predator attacked the livestock, the citizen pursued the wolf in order to save and protect the animals. As a result, the wolf died. In his written explanation regarding the incident, the citizen stated that he acted precisely to protect the sheep.
However, during the inspection it was found that the citizen’s actions were contrary to the requirements of Article 33 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Protection of the Animal World and Its Use”.
As a result, a fine was imposed on citizen M.I. on the basis of the relevant article of the Code of Administrative Responsibility in the amount of 20 times the basic calculation amount, that is, 8 million 240 thousand soums.
For information, it was previously reported that cases of violations of the law against animals by citizens were also identified in Yangiyul district of Tashkent region.
