In Yangiyo‘l city of Tashkent region, an incident connected with a cruel attitude toward animals has strongly shocked the public. According to the statement of the “Mehr va oqibat” animal protection society, a signal has been received among local residents that one citizen has been regularly killing dogs in his home and consuming their meat.
According to the information, regarding this incident the society sent an official appeal to the Internal Affairs bodies, asking to identify the person who committed cruelty toward animals and to bring him to responsibility within the framework of the law.
At the same time, the “Ekolog” public association also promptly paid attention to the incident. According to the words of the organization’s director Nargis Qosimova, during the study work it was determined that the suspected person is 29 years old and lives in Yangiyo‘l city. According to “Ekolog”, he may have repeated such actions before as well. At present, an application is being prepared in the установленном order so that legal measures can be taken against him.
In the additional information provided by the society, it is said that an appeal about this incident came through the call center. The applicant stated that he received videos from an acquaintance in which it is reflected that the dog owner is killing the animal and slaughtering it for meat.
It is stated in the report that when volunteers and animal defenders arrived at the address together with the neighborhood inspectors, the suspected person’s mother and sister were also at home. The mother from the very beginning did not want to believe that her child could resort to such an act, and it was noted that even after video recordings were shown to her, she continued to deny it.
At the moment, giving a legal assessment to the case and making a clear conclusion will be resolved through the inspection of the authorized bodies. However, such incidents once again sharply raise in society the issues of attitude toward animals, control, and advocacy. If the law and public oversight work together, there will be no place for cruelty.
