Judge's assistant caught with $53,000 in Surkhandarya

Another illegal case related to the judicial system has been uncovered in the Surkhandarya region. It is reported that a senior assistant to a judge at the regional court was caught with $53,000 while attempting to solicit a large sum of money by abusing their official position.
The incident was identified during an operational event conducted by the State Security Service and prosecutor's office staff. According to reports, the senior assistant promised to "help" the defendants in a criminal case currently being processed by the Angor District Court for Criminal Cases.
It is alleged that the assistant promised to reduce the 6.3 billion soum damage amount determined for two defendants by issuing a court ruling for re-evaluation, to secure a non-custodial sentence, and to revoke the "pre-trial detention" measure applied during the initial investigation.
In exchange, the assistant demanded $53,000 from the defendants' relative. The individual was apprehended by law enforcement officers with physical evidence while receiving the funds.
This incident once again highlights the importance of integrity and the rule of law in the judicial system. Demanding money through promises to influence court cases, mitigate sentences, or revoke detention measures is considered a serious crime under the law.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against this person under Article 168, Part 4, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale), as well as Articles 28 and 211, Part 1. Investigation activities are ongoing.
During the investigation, authorities will legally examine whether other individuals were involved in this case, to what extent the promised actions could have been carried out, and the true purpose of the money.
Such events serve as an important signal for citizens: court or investigation matters must be resolved only through legal means. The idea that "money solves everything" poses a serious risk not only to justice but also to the individual. Attempting to bypass the law often leads directly to criminal prosecution.
