Important new appointments made at the Ministry of Defense

Another important personnel change has taken place within the system of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan. In accordance with the relevant presidential decree and order, new leaders have been appointed to a number of responsible positions in the ministry. The Ministry of Defense press service officially announced this on May 12.
The report notes that Colonel Bahrom Bahodirovich Urmanov has been appointed Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity. This position is considered one of the most critical areas in today's modern military management system, as digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity are becoming increasingly important for the defense potential of any state.
Prior to this, Bahrom Urmanov served as the Head of the Main Directorate of Communications, Information Technology, and Information Protection of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. Thus, he is taking on his new role as a specialist with sufficient experience, practical knowledge, and a systematic approach in this field.
One of his main tasks in the new position is expected to be strengthening digitalization processes in the army system, reinforcing information security, effectively utilizing modern technologies, and increasing preparedness against potential threats in cyberspace.

Additionally, Colonel Mirsaid Tagirovich Shukurov has also been appointed to a new responsible position. He will begin work as the Chief of the Southern Operational Command of the South-Western Special Military District.
This appointment is also of significant importance in terms of increasing management efficiency in the country's defense system, strengthening operational readiness in military districts, and further coordinating the activities of the troops.
Such personnel changes in the defense sector demonstrate that military management is adapting to modern requirements. In particular, the special emphasis on areas such as artificial intelligence, digitalization, and cybersecurity clearly shows what the army of the future should look like.
