Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is set to return to work, according to a well-known insider, Fabrizio Romano, on his social media page.
According to the journalist, the Dutchman has agreed a deal with Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen until June 2027, with the deal expected to be officially signed on Monday.
A new era is beginning at Bayer Leverkusen
As you know, current manager Xabi Alonso has announced that he will leave his position at the end of the current season. Under his leadership, the team has achieved great results and taken Bayer Leverkusen to a new level. Now, another ambitious and internationally experienced manager, Erik ten Hag, is expected to take his place.
Manchester United and the break after that
Ten Hag spent two seasons at Manchester United, winning the FA Cup and the League Cup during that time. However, due to inconsistent results, he left the club in October 2024. Since then, despite receiving offers, he has not signed a contract with any team.
Now, the opportunity to start working in a team with such ambitious goals as Bayer Leverkusen will be a big test for a specialist. Everyone is interested in how Ten Hag will perform in the discipline and high pressure conditions typical of German football.
Bayer Leverkusen could be a new chapter for Ten Hag. Managing a champion team, maintaining and further developing its system is not an easy task. But his experience and working style could be the main tools on this path. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
