Temur Kapadze, who has been appointed as the head coach of the "Navbahor" football club, is currently actively preparing the team for the new season. Training sessions are being conducted at the National Football Center under the Uzbekistan Football Association. Sports.uz had the chance to closely observe the team’s preparation process and interviewed the new head coach to understand the main factors behind his decision.
Kapadze revealed that he had received offers not only from "Navbahor" but also from other clubs. However, while the decision to work with the Namangan-based team was not easy, he emphasized that it was the right choice for him.
“I received calls from other clubs as well. But I would prefer not to disclose why I declined them at this moment. As for 'Navbahor,' they had shown serious interest in me for two years. I had several conversations with their management, but the decisive factor was the fans. I felt their trust and high expectations. That is why I decided to accept the offer,” said the coach.
Additionally, Temur Kapadze shared his thoughts on Fabio Cannavaro, the renowned Italian defender and the head coach of the Uzbekistan national team. According to Kapadze, his interactions with Cannavaro left a positive impression.
“Cannavaro is a good person and a professional who knows his field perfectly. I found no negative aspects about him. I only wish him success in his career,” added Kapadze.
