Passenger transport control in Tashkent city has been further strengthened. The Transport Control Inspectorate, together with the Passenger Transport Control Department, are conducting regular raids on buses. This was reported by the responsible authorities.
Since the beginning of the year, more than six thousand passengers have been caught traveling without a ticket in the capital. Administrative protocols were drawn up for each case.
According to the data, the amount of the fine is 1/10 of the BHM — 41,200 soums. This is almost 25 times more expensive than the bus fare — 1,700 soums.
It is noteworthy that from January to August, over 7 months, about 4,000 violators were identified, while in just the last month and a half, more than 2,000 “fare dodgers” were caught. This shows that cases of fare evasion are increasing.
In addition, for repeated violations the responsibility becomes even stricter. According to Article 144 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility, a passenger’s travel without a ticket is subject to a fine of three BHMs — that is, 1,236,000 soums.
Officials emphasized that control measures will continue and all passengers are strictly required to pay for their travel on time.
