The Right to Mine Gold in Uzbekistan Has Become Nearly Three Times More Expensive

In Uzbekistan, the minimum starting price at auction for the right to independently mine precious metals has been increased. Under a Cabinet of Ministers resolution, bidding for one hectare of land will now start at 100 BHM, equivalent to 41.2 million soums at the current rate. Previously, the figure was 35 BHM, or 14.4 million soums.
As the BHM rises to 440,000 soums on September 1, 2026, the starting price for one hectare will reach 44 million soums.
In addition, the initial payment for the right to extract hydrocarbons, gold and other mineral ores has been raised from 0.15 percent to 0.6 percent of the value of the raw material. Prices set for geological exploration work have also been increased.
