Tesla begins mass production of Cybercab robotaxi without steering wheel and pedals

Tesla has commenced mass production of its "Cybercab" electric vehicles, which are fully autonomous and operate without a steering wheel or pedals. The first unit assembled at the "Giga Texas" plant in the state of Texas was registered under the "VIN Zero" identifier. It is reported that after leaving the factory assembly line, these vehicles travel to the parking area independently. Ixbt.com reports on this development.

The transition of this two-seater robotaxi project from the prototype stage to full production demonstrates the commercial prospects of the initiative. The "Cybercab" is specifically designed for robotaxi services and will serve to expand the network of autonomous transport vehicles within the Tesla ecosystem. Information regarding the vehicle's exterior design and technical capabilities is being widely discussed on social media.

The electric vehicle's control system is based exclusively on cameras and artificial intelligence technology. It does not feature a traditional charging connector; instead, wireless induction charging technology has been implemented. This allows for the maximum automation of the vehicle's operation process.

Tesla management plans to launch this model at a price of less than 30,000 dollars. The primary goal is to create a global network of robotaxis accessible via a mobile application and to significantly reduce the cost of passenger transportation. Mass sales of the new model are expected to begin in 2026.
