Sale of counterfeit household chemicals halted in Tashkent

Cases involving the sale of counterfeit household chemicals under well-known trademarks have been uncovered in Tashkent. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Justice. The investigation was initiated following an appeal from «Sano Technology» company, the brand owner of «KROT» cleaning products. Uzdaily.uz reports on the matter.
According to the rights holder, goods similar to the original products and misleading to consumers were being sold in the capital's markets. During studies conducted by employees of the Intellectual Property Center under the Ministry of Justice at retail outlets in Tashkent, the sale of counterfeit products was confirmed at six locations.
Following the control measures, protocols were drawn up against all violators under Article 177 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (illegal use of a trademark). The collected documents were submitted to the court for review.
By court decision, each violating company was fined 15 times the base calculating amount, i.e., 5.1 million soums. Additionally, the entrepreneurs were ordered to rectify the identified legal violations. The Ministry emphasized that such measures serve to prevent the spread of counterfeit goods in the market.
