President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the special historical significance of the state visit of the head of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, noting that this event will serve to further strengthen the centuries-old traditions of friendship, good neighborliness, and mutual respect between the two countries.
According to the head of state, holding the meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council for the first time within the framework of this visit will take cooperation to a completely new level. This format will serve to enrich the relations of strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries with more meaningful, practical, and innovative initiatives.
At the meeting, close cooperation between governments, parliaments, and various agencies was highly appreciated. During the preparations for the visit, the successful holding of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, industrial exhibitions, as well as forums with the participation of regions, rectors, scientists, and youth, was especially noted. At the same time, Days of Tajik Culture and Cinema are being organized at a high level in our country.

During the negotiations, the parties thoroughly analyzed new areas of cooperation and outlined specific plans to utilize untapped opportunities. Issues of expanding mutual trade, strengthening industrial cooperation, improving transport and logistics connectivity, as well as ensuring water and energy security were considered as priority tasks.
It is noted that by the end of last year, the trade turnover between the two countries reached almost $1 billion. This indicator increased significantly, mainly due to the supply of finished products.
Currently, joint projects are being effectively implemented in a number of sectors, including industry, construction, agriculture, textiles, electrical engineering, and pharmaceuticals. Furthermore, the establishment of air, bus, and rail links between the capitals of the two countries further intensifies trade and logistical ties.

The possibilities of bringing the volume of mutual trade to $2 billion by 2030 were also considered. To achieve this goal, important initiatives were put forward, such as accelerating the construction of the "Oybek-Fatihobod" border trade center, improving the product certification system, and introducing the "E-Permit" digital permit exchange.
At the same time, new cooperation programs are being developed in the mining industry, energy, agriculture, light industry, and construction. In order to financially support promising projects, it is planned to expand the capital of the joint investment company.
The parties did not forget about humanitarian cooperation - it was proposed to adopt a five-year program to strengthen exchanges in the fields of education, science, and culture, and to develop ties between diasporas.

The leaders also exchanged views on topical issues of regional and international politics and agreed to further intensify multilateral cooperation in Central Asia. Special attention was paid to strengthening partnership in the security sphere.
Following the meeting, it was decided to adopt a comprehensive "roadmap" for the consistent implementation of all agreements. Undoubtedly, this will further strengthen cooperation between the two countries and bring it to a new level.
