OpenAI, the company that developed ChatGPT, on Friday, February 14, rejected an offer from Elon Musk, who had submitted to the corporation's board of directors for 97.4 billion dollars (92.8 billion euros). OpenAI CEO Sam Altman confirmed this information.
"OpenAI is not for sale, and the board unanimously rejected Musk's latest attempt to take control of competitors. Any potential reorganization of OpenAI would strengthen our non-profit organization and its mission to ensure that AGI benefits all of humanity," OpenAI Board Chairman Bret Taylor was quoted as saying.
OpenAI wants to focus on profit
OpenAI is in the process of restructuring and becoming a company focused on profit, dpa reports.
The billionaire's lawyers said in a court filing on February 12 that they would withdraw their offer to buy OpenAI if the consortium led by Musk, which includes his artificial intelligence startup xAI, abandons its plans to turn it into a commercial entity.
The dispute between Altman and Musk has been going on for many years, The Guardian reports. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
