A Photography Residency Will Be Held in Peredelkino Using Huawei Flagships

For the first time in its history, the famous Peredelkino House of Creativity in the Moscow Region is organizing a special residency project for photographers. Starting on August 23, 2026, and lasting one week, the project, titled “Closer Than It Seems,” is being carried out in partnership with Huawei. The initiative focuses on documenting the daily life, architecture, and nature of the writers’ village using modern smartphones and is attracting the attention of art enthusiasts. This was reported by Ixbt.com reports .

According to ixbt.com, renowned photographer and gallery owner Nina Gomiashvili is serving as the project’s lead curator. Eight authors selected through a competition will work on documentary, nature, and architectural photography, as well as themes of memory and everyday life. The program focuses primarily on remote photography and zoom capabilities, allowing creators to capture important details without approaching their surroundings.

Technical Capabilities and Advanced Devices

During the project, participants will receive Huawei’s latest flagship models—the Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max and Pura 90s Pro smartphones. In particular, the Pura 90s Pro Max, the most advanced model in the series, is equipped with a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto module that supports four-times optical zoom and 100-times digital zoom. This telephoto lens makes it possible to capture small details from a distance with exceptional clarity.

The device also features a 50-megapixel primary RYYB sensor and a variable f/1.4–f/4.0 aperture, ensuring high-quality shots even in low-light conditions. The flagship has a 6.9-inch display and relies on a second-generation XMAGE photography system, artificial intelligence algorithms, a 5-nanometer HiSilicon Kirin 9030S processor, and a 6000 mAh battery. The Pura 90s Pro version comes with a slightly smaller 6.6-inch display, 50-megapixel primary and telephoto cameras, and an appealing design available in various colors.

Open Format and Digital Archive

The residency will not be held in a closed format but will be open to everyone interested. Every day, the authors will gather around a shared table at a set time to discuss the images they have taken and select the best shots of the day. Anyone can attend this process, get answers to their questions, and listen to special lectures on the art of smartphone photography.

The project’s final results will be published in September 2026 on a special digital page at pro-peredelkino.org. It will feature the participants’ best work, video materials, and observation diaries. Each photograph will include geotags, eventually allowing visitors to follow special routes around Peredelkino and independently discover the landmarks highlighted by the authors.
