Traces of Two Previously Unknown Ancestors Found in Human DNA

A new genetic study conducted by scientists has raised fresh questions about our understanding of human evolution. The findings suggest that modern human DNA may preserve genetic traces of two ancient ancestors previously unknown to science.
Experts note that these traces are not linked to the previously known Neanderthals or Denisovans. Therefore, the study’s authors tentatively refer to them as “ghost ancestors” (ghost ancestors) This term refers to ancient human groups for which no fossil remains have yet been found, but whose existence is inferred through genetic analysis.
While analyzing the modern human genome, researchers found that certain DNA segments do not match any known ancient human species. According to the scientists, this may indicate that genetic exchange occurred during human history with two additional ancient populations that remain unknown.
At the same time, experts emphasize that these conclusions will be refined through further research. So far, there is no fossil evidence of these ancient ancestors, and no definitive conclusion has been reached about who they were.
