Exam Scandal Claims Life of 17-Year-Old Boy

The scandal surrounding India's national medical entrance exam, NEET , has led to yet another tragedy. 17-year-old Kahaan Patel, who was required to retake the exam, died by suicide just three days before the test.

The tragedy occurred on the morning of June 18 in the city of Ahmedabad. When his parents entered his room, everything was in its place: his laptop was open, textbooks and notebooks were on the desk, his electric guitar stood in the corner, and his favorite books were on the bookshelf. Only one thing was missing — Kahaan himself.

The young man had to retake the exam due to the controversy surrounding the leak of questions in this year's NEET exam. Like millions of other applicants, he was preparing for the re-test. According to his relatives, the uncertainty and intense psychological pressure severely affected his condition.

According to media reports, Kahaan is at least the 21st student to end his life amid this exam scandal. These events have sparked widespread protests across the country.

In Delhi, thousands of young people demanded that those responsible for flaws in the education system and problems surrounding exams be held accountable. Following days of protests, Indian Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stepped down.

Kahaan Patel's family stated that their son's dream was to become a doctor, but the crisis surrounding the exam ended this dream in tragedy. This incident has once again brought the issues of India's education system and youth mental health to the forefront.
