
On May 7, 2025, a solemn military parade dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II was held in Astana. The grand event held on the occasion of this historic date became not only a symbol of glorious memory for Kazakhstan, but also an event demonstrating the potential of its modern army.



The parade showcased new developments from all units of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, military formations, specialized educational institutions, and the domestic defense-industrial complex. More than 4,000 military personnel, more than 200 modern equipment, 66 military aviation vehicles contributed to the parade's solemn and intense spirit.



For the first time, "Buk" and "Tor" anti-aircraft missile complexes, "Baris", "Alan", "Aybar", "Taimas", "Terrex" cargo-carrying and combat vehicles appeared in the special column. Robotic equipment for mine clearance, unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as new projects being developed by local manufacturers were also presented to the audience.



The air show part of the event also became a spectacular sight. Su-30SM fighter jets, military and passenger aircraft such as the A-400 and L-410, Bi-300 patrol aircraft, and various types of helicopters flew rapidly over Kazakhstan's airspace.



The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended the parade and in his speech spoke about the significance of the Victory in World War II in the national history of Kazakhstan and the need to honor it. The head of state also emphasized that this date is a symbol of the selfless labor and courage of the people.



The event was also attended by General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam. Nearly 5,000 guests, including war veterans, representatives of the diplomatic corps and public organizations, watched the parade live. In addition, the parade was broadcast online in all regions.



This grand event in the central square of Astana once again demonstrated the power of the Kazakh army as a combination of historical memory and modern military potential.
