US President Donald Trump’s latest statement has once again sparked major debate on the international stage. According to him, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is more of a personal matter than a state issue, and he intends to put an end to this conflict in the future. He said this during a conversation with journalists at the White House.
Trump said: “One of the easiest problems for me seemed, to be honest, the Russia and Ukraine issue. But it turned out that this boils down to a serious personal conflict. That’s right. But still, in the end, we will stop it.” The President did not fully disclose his plans, but stressed that the matter is under his control.
At the same time, according to the US leader, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s refusal to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is related to personal relations. When journalists asked: “Why doesn’t Putin want to meet with Zelensky?” Trump gave a short and clear answer: “He doesn’t like him. He doesn’t like him.”
Trump also highlighted another important point: the US is currently no longer allocating direct funds to Ukraine, and all negotiations regarding the purchase of weapons for the Ukrainian army are being conducted exclusively through NATO. According to him, this policy has been shaped in line with America’s interests.
Experts note that Trump’s statement may add a new dimension to the debates surrounding the conflict. His emphasis on the personal nature of the confrontation clearly creates new analytical points in the Russia–Ukraine situation.
Thus, these words from Washington have triggered another pressing debate on the international arena. Fans and political observers are eagerly waiting to see how much strength Trump’s firm promises of “we will stop it” will actually hold.
