Video of Giant “Grill Ferris Wheel” Leads to Restaurant Closure

A widely circulated video of a giant “chicken Ferris wheel” prompted a sanitary inspection of a restaurant in Oman. The video showing the preparation of the unusually presented dish gained millions of views in a short time, raising food safety concerns among users.

Afterward, specialists inspected the restaurant, collected samples of the prepared dishes, and sent them for laboratory analysis. According to the preliminary results, the chicken examined was undercooked and contained traces of blood.

Following the inspection, the restaurant was temporarily closed for failing to comply with sanitation and food safety requirements. Officials said the establishment would not be allowed to resume operations until the identified shortcomings were corrected.

The incident showed that a video that began with an unusual food preparation method led not only to online buzz but also to an official inspection of the restaurant.
