A 29-year-old Uzbekistani student was detained in South Korea. According to the Chosun publication, under the guise of a charitable project to dig wells in Africa, he collected funds and transferred some of them to groups linked to HAMAS and Al-Qaeda.
Additionally, the suspect created fake pages on social networks, publishing extremist posts and calls to war. The funds were collected in two ways—through cryptocurrency and in cash, for which he organized a football club for compatriots.
He now faces up to ten years in prison and a large fine. The investigation is ongoing.
Police are investigating whether he had accomplices or where else the collected funds were sent. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
