Netanyahu discussed Hamas and Iran with Whitkoff

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sharply discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip and the Hamas issue during a meeting with US Special Representative Steve Whitkoff. According to a statement released by the Chancellery, Netanyahu reiterated that efforts to fully disarm Hamas, demilitarize the sector, and restore Gaza should not be undertaken until the war objectives are fully achieved.

During this conversation, the Israeli leader also openly stated another important point: according to his position, the Palestinian National Authority will not be involved in the Gaza Strip management process under any circumstances. That is, Netanyahu is promoting an "exclusive" approach to this issue.

The parties did not limit themselves to just Gaza. The situation around Iran was also discussed separately against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the region. This became especially relevant before Whitkoff's meeting with the Iranian representative.

According to the statement, Netanyahu once again clearly explained his position to Whitkoff: the Israeli Prime Minister believes that Iran has repeatedly demonstrated through its actions that "it is difficult to rely on promises." For this reason, official Tel Aviv maintains the view that caution and a firm position should be a priority in any dialogue in this direction.

In short, the content of the conversation shows that: Requirements for Gaza are strict, there is no path to political participation, and regarding Iran, the problem of trust comes to the forefront. Every step in the region determines the next agenda - and this time too, the questions following the dialogue did not decrease, on the contrary, increased.
