Fraudsters Promising to Increase Pensions Have Become More Active in Uzbekistan

Fraudsters promising to increase pensions in Uzbekistan have become more active
The Pension Fund of the Republic of Uzbekistan has issued an urgent warning due to an increase in cases of fraud in the regions. Unknown individuals are promising citizens an “increase in pensions” in exchange for their personal data and money.

Fraudsters are approaching pensioners, trying to obtain their confidential information—including passport details, bank card numbers, or INPS numbers—under false promises to recalculate or increase their pension payments. It should be noted that the increase or recalculation of pensions is carried out solely by district or city branches of the Pension Fund on a legal basis (for example, due to changes in work history, number of dependents, etc.).

Pension Fund employees never offer to increase pensions to citizens on the street. The Pension Fund strongly recommends that citizens do not give their personal information to anyone.

This information can be used by fraudsters to withdraw funds or to arrange loans. If you encounter suspicious situations, you can contact the following numbers: • 1271 — Pension Fund hotline; • 102 — law enforcement agencies.
