Girl Who Fell from the 18th Floor Survives Miraculously

In China, a 20-year-old girl survived after falling from the balcony of an 18-story residential building. This was reported by South China Morning Post .

The incident reportedly occurred at around 4:00 a.m. on July 12. The girl jumped from the balcony after an argument with her boyfriend. During the fall, tree branches slowed her descent, and she survived because she landed on bushes.

After the incident, her boyfriend immediately took her to the hospital and paid the initial 20,000 yuan (approximately 3,000 U.S. dollars) for her treatment.

A medical examination found injuries to the girl’s head, lungs, liver and spleen, as well as fractures to her pelvis, pelvic region and both legs. She has undergone two surgeries.

According to the report, the girl had decided to end her relationship with her boyfriend two days before the incident and had even bought a train ticket to return to Yunnan Province. However, after another argument on July 11, her boyfriend took her identity card and mobile phone and locked the door of the apartment.

The incident became widely known after the girl’s family appealed through the media for help covering her medical expenses. The girl’s mother was diagnosed with cancer in 2022, and the family had already been experiencing financial difficulties.

Medical expenses have so far exceeded 100,000 yuan. The family is in debt to the hospital, but they managed to raise 90,000 yuan through an online crowdfunding platform.
