Minors found guilty of murder and car theft in Sirdaryo

Two underage youths from Andijan region were found guilty of car theft and assaulting a law enforcement officer. This was reported by the program “Zamon”.

According to the investigation, the youths took advantage of a driver leaving his car at a gas station in the Sirdaryo region and stole a Cobalt vehicle. On the night of August 1 to August 2, they were stopped in Boka district by Internal Affairs Officer Major Nurbek Shodiev.

During the process of taking them to the station, one of the youths injured the officer's neck with a knife, and they escaped in the major's service vehicle, a Matiz. Later, in Ohangaron district, the criminals ran over a traffic inspector who tried to stop them.

The inspector sustained moderate injuries. The Boka district court found both minors guilty of attempted murder and two counts of vehicle theft.

According to the court’s verdict, one was sentenced to 9.5 years and the other to 15.5 years in prison. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
