A mishap occurred in the marketplace of Khojaabad district, located in Andijan region, where items such as clothing are sold. According to reports, on December 21, 2025, at approximately 11:00 AM, one of the market stalls collapsed.
Official sources have stated that the stall was installed in front of a shop by an entrepreneur in a makeshift manner, failing to comply with required technical and safety standards. Additionally, the upper part of the structure was overloaded with heavy winter clothing, which further exacerbated the situation. The excessive weight compromised the stability of the stall, causing it to collapse.
As a result of the incident, one entrepreneur responsible for the violation sustained injuries. The individual was promptly taken to a medical facility, where necessary first aid was administered. It has been reported that the injured person is in satisfactory condition, with no threat to their life. No injuries were reported among other individuals.
Authorities are currently investigating all causes and circumstances surrounding the incident. It has also been highlighted that the safety compliance of market stalls in the area may be reconsidered. Entrepreneurs are urged to strictly adhere to the established regulations to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
