A criminal case has been initiated against a lawyer operating in Tashkent. This was uncovered during a joint operation conducted by officers from the State Security Service's Tashkent City Directorate and the City Directorate of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes.
It was revealed that a previously convicted individual, a member of the Bar Association, was caught red-handed with physical evidence while illegally receiving $2,000 US dollars by fraudulent means.
During investigations, it was found that he promised to resolve, through his official acquaintances, the issue of not applying "arrest" as a preventive measure against a suspect involved in a criminal case under Article 168 of the Criminal Code, which was under the proceedings of the Shaykhontohur District Internal Affairs Directorate's Investigation Department.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing regarding the incident. All circumstances of the event and the actions of the suspect will be legally assessed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
