A previously convicted person who practiced law in Tashkent was detained for another crime. The State Security Service provided official information about this.
It is reported that the lawyer, through his acquaintances and officials, promised to resolve the issue of not applying a preventive measure of "detention" to the suspect within the framework of the criminal case. In exchange for this "service," he demanded 2 thousand US dollars.
During the operational event, this lawyer was caught red-handed while fraudulently receiving these funds. It was established that the case was being investigated by the Investigative Department of the Shaykhantakhur District Department of Internal Affairs under Article 168 of the Criminal Code - fraud.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under Article 168, Part 3, Clause "v" and Article 28, Part 1 of the Criminal Code. By court order, a preventive measure of "imprisonment" was applied to him. The investigation is ongoing.
It is noted that this is not the only case recently identified with the participation of lawyers. It was previously reported that as a result of operational measures held in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Gulistan, the illegal actions of several lawyers were stopped.
