A student in Tashkent was found to have been forcibly giving religious lessons to minors

As a result of an operational operation conducted in cooperation with the State Security Service and the Internal Affairs agencies, it was found that a student in Tashkent had been harassing 9 minors. Born in 1992 in the Kashkadarya region, this person is a 2nd-year student at a non-state higher education institution in the capital, rented an apartment in the Yangihayot district and gave religious lessons to children between 2014 and 2021 in exchange for material benefits.
During the investigation, 49 books of various religious content, 24 notebooks with religious textbooks, and 1 laptop were confiscated as material evidence. According to preliminary information, the children were forcibly given lessons, and in some cases they were injured. Also, 6 of the children did not attend classes at the general education school for 2 to 8 months, were forcibly kept at home and were not allowed to go out.
Currently, examinations have been ordered for the seized religious literature and computer equipment, and a criminal case has been initiated against the student under Part 2 of Article 229² of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Also, administrative reports were issued to the children's parents under Article 47 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.
