Man in Fergana sentenced to 19 years in prison for murdering wife and daughter to avoid alimony

A court verdict has been announced in a horrific crime that shocked the public in the Fergana region. In the Uzbekistan district, a man was sentenced to a long prison term for murdering his wife and young child to avoid paying alimony.
It was reported that on November 3, 2025, the individual arrived at his father-in-law's house in an intoxicated state to meet his wife. Previously, the woman had filed a lawsuit to collect alimony, and according to a court decision, the man had served 15 days in detention.
Even after serving his sentence, the family conflict did not subside; instead, it intensified. According to investigation details, with the intention of avoiding alimony payments, he used a kitchen knife he had prepared in advance to stab his wife multiple times. The tragic aspect is that he did not spare his 3-year-old daughter either.
As a result of the injuries sustained, the child died at the scene, and the mother passed away while being transported to the hospital. The perpetrator fled the scene after committing the crime but was later apprehended.
The criminal court found him guilty under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 19 years of imprisonment.
This tragedy has once again demonstrated the severe consequences that can arise from failing to resolve family conflicts in a timely manner.
