Aftermath of heavy rain: Chorsu metro station flooded (video)

Heavy and short-lived rainfall in Tashkent on the night of May 3 significantly impacted life in the capital. A large volume of rain fell in a short period, causing water to accumulate in some central and low-lying areas of the city.
According to reports circulating on social media, the situation around the Chorsu metro station became quite difficult. Rainwater was observed entering the station, and cleaning and technical staff took immediate measures to address the issue. It is also reported that movement in some corridors was temporarily restricted.

In the Uchtepa district, pedestrian movement was restricted on some streets. Due to rising water levels, it is reported that water also entered some retail shops and service points.
Furthermore, a short-term power outage was observed near Tashkent City as a result of a lightning strike. Experts note that such incidents occur frequently during heavy rain and thunderstorms.
It is noted that the city's municipal and emergency services are working in an enhanced mode, taking measures to drain water and restore infrastructure.
