Citizens lost in Vakhshivor mountains found safe

Four citizens who lost their way while hiking in the Vakhshivor mountains in the Oltinsoy district of the Surkhandarya region were found safe and sound by rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
It is reported that on May 10, the Surkhandarya Region Emergency Situations Department received a call via the “112” system. It stated that a group of citizens had become lost in the mountainous area located within the Vakhshivor citizens' assembly in the Oltinsoy district.
Upon receiving the report, MES rescuers immediately arrived at the specified location. Specialists began search and rescue operations in the area, analyzing the potential movement paths of the citizens in the mountainous terrain.
As a result of the rapid actions taken, the four citizens who had gone hiking in the mountain area were found. They were brought to a safe place. Most importantly, no one sustained any injuries during the incident.
The Vakhshivor mountains have beautiful nature, but situations such as losing one's way, changing weather, or poor signal quality in mountainous areas can pose risks. Therefore, it is important to clearly define the route, inform loved ones about the destination, and take necessary precautions before visiting such places.
Thanks to the prompt actions of the rescuers, the situation ended without negative consequences. This incident serves as another reminder: relaxing in nature is good, but safety must come first. In the mountains, the confidence of “knowing the way” can sometimes lead you astray faster than a GPS.
