The football news portal Goal has announced the list of main contenders for the «Ballon d’Or» award, to be presented in 2026. According to the ranking, Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane is currently considered the frontrunner for this prestigious honor.
The English forward is demonstrating remarkable consistency this season, leading Bayern Munich forward with his goals and decisive actions. For this reason, Goal’s editorial team has assessed him as the main favorite in the «Ballon d’Or–2026» race.
Manchester City’s relentless goal-scoring machine Erling Haaland has been ranked second. The Norwegian forward continues to stand out for his scoring prowess each season, making him a pivotal player for his team. His goal tally and physical dominance keep him at the top of the rankings.
The top three are rounded off by Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappé. The French star has become a key player in Madrid during his initial seasons, consistently proving his mettle in decisive matches. Experts believe that the «Ballon d’Or» remains one of Mbappé’s foremost aspirations.
