Internet shut down across Iraq due to school exams

A large-scale internet outage occurred in Iraq: connection was completely cut off for about two hours in almost all parts of the country, except for the northern regions. This was reported by the network monitoring service NetBlocks. According to Ixbt.com reports .
It is reported that such restrictions are carried out regularly and are directly related to the school exam period. Authorities explain this measure by the need to prevent exam questions from leaking and to stop students from cheating.
However, this practice is being sharply criticized by the public and experts. Although short-term, the mass shutdown of the internet has a serious impact not only on students but also on business structures, online services, and ordinary users.
Experts note that such outages lead to economic losses and technical malfunctions in digital services. As a reminder, there were earlier reports that the Iranian government was considering introducing special fees for submarine internet cables.
